I Need $1,400 ...

So, Daniel and I are in some credit card debt ... along with everyone else. Well, we had a creditor call this evening and offer to settle with us for $1,400 but it all has to be paid by October. Well ... I don't have an extra $350 a month laying around. I mean, if I did ... I'd be makin' the payment. ?? Duh!

Well, here I am trying to figure out where we can get an extra $89 a week to put towards our bill. I'm going to ask Heather if I can work an extra night or two each week at the restaurant to help get this paid down. I hope and pray she says yes. She's already fully staffed so .. We'll see how this goes.

But, I've also been lookin' online for other ways to get some cash. Well, I know of all the scams so I'm cautious about everything. And I'm planning on having a yard sale but I'm not sure how that will go because I don't have a whole lot of anything to sale. lol ...

Do you know of anything? I'm not interested in direct selling businesses ... I don't have time for parties or long conference calls. Ugh, I don't know .... At one point in time I sold Avon, Home Interiors and Melaleuca. And all three helped to get me where I'm at today. In debt. :o) Minimum orders and all that crap add up.

I will say this ... Them wanting to settle has definitely got me motivated. Because it makes us feel like there's an end in sight. Ya know? We've been reading Dave Ramsey's book about budgeting and all that good stuff but how do you budget when you don't have money to budget with? We just have more going out than what's coming in. And we HAVE to get it under control. Working in a restaurant definitely doesn't help. Some weeks it's beneficial and some weeks it's not.

So, if you'd like ... help me out! :o) What are your tips ... Thanks!

Above everything else, get that settlement faxed to you in writing or else they will not honor that deal. Do you have anything you can sell?

We have to call them back tomorrow and give them a yay or nay and then they're going to mail us the paperwork.

My mom was freakin' out when I told her about it because she did the same thing with a student loan my Dad got. The guy tried to screw her over and she ended up going over his head and getting things together. She learned the hard way.

I have some baby stuff but that's about it. I just hate to sell all that because we do plan on having more and I hate to have to go back to buy everything again. Ya know?

hey Kaprice. I've been trying to figure out how to make some extra money as well. I found out 2 weeks ago that my company isn't going to pay me for maternity leave and they aren't going to let me work from home (like they originally said) so I've got to get money saved up to cover bills for the time that I'll be out of work for leave. I haven't come across anything good. But I do plan on making jewelry again and trying to sell that online as well as at the flea market. I'm hoping it will bring in a little extra cash. Every little bit counts. I'll be praying for your situation and hope you find something to get that debt covered. That is a great offer.

Flea markets are great at selling stuff. Sweeties Flea Market in Hampton stays so busy all the time. My mom's friend sold all of her baby stuff there in one day and walked with like $300. That's awesome!

I need to have a yard sale and get rid of some of JD's things. It's cluttering my house up bad. I thought about selling it on Ebay, like his clothes, and seeing what I could get for it. I feel bad though because I know some folks at our church could use it and I should donate it but I really need the money, too. TORN! lol ...

The best way to make money is to get a job. A real job. 40 hrs a week. I would work as much as you can before you have that baby. Can you work nights? I remember my mother doing this when I was a child.

Hi ... Anonymous! :o) Thank you for your post. However ... I'm not having a baby. I miscarried. You can read about that in the previous post. And I have a job, a real one, and I work close to 50 hours a week.

Thanks.
