Some children eat their meals when it's placed in front of them. Not my child. He likes to rub it in his hair for extra flavor I guess.
Well, he decided today that he was going to rub his bananas in his hair. Before I could scream "Noooooo" at him there was light brown bits of banana hanging from the ends of his light brown hair. I just sighed and shook my head. Kids will be kids and I'm just fine with that. However, it's not always convenient to give baths every time food gets stuck in his hair or pushed into his ears.
It had to be convenient today though and I was able to use it to my advantage. I decided that while he played in the bath tub I would get my makeup on and get dressed. I was in the mirror applying my mascara and I hear the sound "Mmmmm"! A quick thought went through my head at that very moment, "What has he done now!"
Now, everyone has those little pieces of soap that are too small to use and they sit on the ledge of bath tub waiting to be thrown away. Well, JD was playing with a thin white piece of Ivory soap in his little bucket with his Sesame Street bath toys. And yes, he decided it was time to eat soap! I look over at him and he had little pieces of white soap sticking to his chin and the water was dripping down his face trying to dry. He also had tiny pieces stuck to his lip. I said "JD!" and he said "Uh-Oh Mama", lol.
I'm freaking out wondering what to do because I didn't know if kids could die from that. I quickly grabbed his wash cloth and turned on the water to wet the cloth. Before I could wash his tongue and try to get the soap out of his mouth he began throwing up. It was so gross!!! I know, I know, I'm a Mom but still, it was gross.
When you throw up what's the first thing you do? I brush my teeth.
So, I grabbed JD's new Elmo toothbrush and toothpaste and try to brush his little teeth. Within seconds there are REAL BUBBLES coming out of his mouth like a washing machine over flowing. I began laughing hysterically and trying to get them out. I have never seen anything like it before and wish I could have video taped it to always remember it.

How true that statement is about not knowing if something will kill your kid. Once my son was born, everything by default became a threat to his safety. I call it Dad Goggles. funny story! Burping up bubbles is definitely YouTube worthy.
